Rocket Fails to Reach Orbit, Authority of the North Find Out Causes



Pyongyang, North Korean authorities (North Korea) to give an official statementabout the launch of the rocket that failed to reach orbit. North Korea insists, Until now, North Korean authorities are still figuring out the cause of the failure.
"Earth observation satellite failed to reach a predetermined orbit," said an official statement by the authority of North Korean news agency Korean Central News Agency (KCNA) and reported by AFP on Friday (13/04/2012).
North Korea launched a long-range rocket Unha-3, which consists of threesections, at 7:39 pm local time. The rocket was launched from a region near the border with China.
The rocket was on the air as high as 152 km across the island of Baengnyeong, but then fell in the Yellow Sea near South Korea's western region. Whenattempting to release the first phase, the rocket exploded into 20 pieces and fellinto the sea.
"Scientists, engineers, experts currently figuring out the cause of the failure," saidNorth Korean authorities.
Estimated residual debris scattered rocket crashed in the Yellow Sea. Authority of South Korea (ROK) has estimated that the debris fell in the region between 100-150 km west Pyeongtaek City.
Rocket launch was conducted in order to commemorate the 100th birthday ofNorth Korean founder Kim Il-Sung, which falls on 15 April. Despite the criticismand condemnation of many, but the authorities insisted on North Korea launched a long-range rocket it.
North Korea repeatedly asserted that the rocket launch was for peaceful purposes, namely to put a satellite in orbit in outer space. However, Western countries still maintain that the launch was a disguised missile test, which is clearly prohibited by the United Nations.
